dc.description.abstract | In the present Thesis two types of antenna have been selected: parabolic patch feeder and parabolic back-fire helix antenna. This types of antennas have characteristics that conform to those required by the literature for their implementation in a system of reception of satellite meteorological information. In determining the advantages and disadvantages between both antennas has decided the selection of parabolic antenna with patch feeder due to some advantages with respect to the helical antenna. As a sequential part in the objectives of this thesis, we first proceeded in the ANSYS HFSS software design with IE (Integral Equation), which is used to simulate antennas using surface integration techniques by the Moments Method (MoM). Recommended simulation technique for performing antenna simulations of parabolic surfaces. Then, based on the results obtained, we proceeded to the construction and characterization, in order to validate the results. The results show that when using a parabolic antenna with patch feeder, a smaller diameter is required than having a helix feeder in back-fire mode; In addition, the proposed patch feeder shows a better circular polarization (0.8dB@1.7GHz), compared to the helical antenna. The main contribution of the Thesis is the construction of an antenna, which can be used within a polar orbit weather reception system in HRPT (High Rate Picture Transmission) format, at 1.7GHz. As final part, the assembly and foundation of the antenna ready for use in a satellite reception system has been carried out. | |
